The Zambezi River is the best place for Tiger and Nembwe, and Kalimbeza Rest Camp is strategically situated on the Upper Zambezi to give easy access to the best fishing spots. Therefor Kalimbeza is one of the main venues of the
Nwanyi Angling Club, and has been used as the venue for the Angling Competition between Namibia vs South African Proteas in August this year.
Kalimbeza Rest Camp is also proud to be included in the Joint Venues of the International Zambezi Classic Angling Competition that is annually held around the Namibian Long-weekend in August.

We know what we are doing! Douglas Wegener, with Namibian Colours in Angling, is the owner of Kalimbeza Rest Camp, while Henk Coetzer is Manager. Dougie's Father, Glen Wegener recently became honorary Member of Nwanyi Angling Club, of which he was one of the first members about 23 years back when they moved to Katima Mulilo. Therefore - angling in this region is in the blood of Kalimbeza Rest Camp!

The Zambezi Region boasts up to 400 bird species, of which many of them can be seen at Kalimbeza Rest Camp itself, and many more very close when doing a boat cruise. Breeding Carmines can be seen yearly at the camp, King Fishers and other Bee-eaters are common, and the Giant Kingfisher also makes it's nest on the camp.
Kalimbeza is one of the best spots to just relax and tick off a huge amount of birds in your bird-book!
